Good to know for Brampton homes
Basement second units
Brampton has a large number of secondary suites, according to a Toronto Metropolitan University report. The City's two unit dwelling package includes egress window sample drawings, and second units must be registered under its by-law.
Bramalea and the downtown core
Bramalea began as a planned satellite community in the 1960s, and downtown Brampton centres on the four corners at Queen and Main. Homes of different eras call for different measuring care.
Heritage properties
The City's heritage permit kit says changes that could affect designated heritage attributes need a permit, and designation by-laws often list windows and doors. Ask the City if you are unsure.
Questions Brampton homeowners ask
The City of Brampton has an exterior opening package for new or enlarged openings, and these need a building permit application. For a simple same size replacement, confirm with the City's Building Division before you start.
Second units are registered under a City by-law, and the City's two unit package includes sample drawings for egress and exit windows. Check the City's current requirements for your plan, then we can help you choose a window that suits it.
Yes, Brampton is in our installation area. We deliver across Canada, and across the GTA we can arrange the fitting too, so one team carries your job from order to finish. Elsewhere we supply and you bring your own installer.
Yes. Our showroom on Orangebrook Court in Pickering displays aluminium windows and doors, by appointment. You can book a time online or through the chat on any page, and bring your questions.
The colours available vary from brand to brand. The popular ones can be picked in our online configurator, and on request we can offer any RAL colour. You can browse the full range on our RAL colours page.
Use our free measurement guide, which takes you through each opening step by step. If you already have an opening size, the rough opening converter turns it into the frame size to order.
