Good to know for Newmarket homes
Lower Main Street South
The Town of Newmarket's one heritage district is Lower Main Street South. In a heritage district, exterior changes can need a heritage permit, so ask the Town before you order.
Permits and zoning
The Town has pages on building permits and on heritage permits. Even when a project does not need a building permit, zoning rules can still apply, so confirm your plan with the Town.
Questions Newmarket homeowners ask
Newmarket's building rules depend on the project. The Town explains them on its website, and its building department can confirm what applies to yours, especially if you plan to change an opening. Ask before you order.
